Haminan Energia biogas plant delivery is moving forward on schedule. The second reactor of the biogas plant arrived in Virolahti on Friday, May 8th, and the topping-out celebration was held last week.
“The project moves forward as planned. The second reactor has been delivered to Hamina, and the third reactor is being finalized in our factory. The passersby can already admire the reactors as it is easy to see them from the road next to the site. The next step after the reactors are in place is to build the waste pre-treatment hall on site, which will happen during June”, says BioGTS’s Project Manager, Kauko Isomöttönen.
In the first stage, Haminan Energia biogas plant is comprised of three parallel biogas reactors. It is the first biogas plant in Finland that is completely built indoors in a factory and financed by leasing financing. All the parts are installed indoors in the factory, and the ready-made reactors are transported to Hamina in two parts by road transportation and lifted into place by crane. The biogas plant is easy to scale up later on by adding a number of parallel reactors. The plant will be commissioned to the customer by the end of 2015.
