The Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Lenita Toivakka, visited BioGTS at the Sepelitie site in Jyväskylä on Tuesday this week.

The Project Manager of BioGTS, Kauko Isomöttönen, presented the company’s background, story and the operation of the hall to the Minister.

Minister Toivakka wants to encourage entrepreneurs in the growing bioeconomy field to enter the export markets. According to Lenita Toivakka, there is know-how to be found, but the hurdle to entering markets is too great. Furthermore, she is concerned about the fact that the exports of our country depend on too few operators.

One of the aims of Minister Toivakka’s trip was to get to know companies in Central Finland and deepen her understanding of domestic bioeconomy know-how. She has been asked many times what Finland might have to offer to the world in the bioeconomy field. At the conclusion of her visit to BioGTS, the Minister said: “Now I have a story to tell.”
