BioGTS has won the Kasvu Open Bioeconomy Metsä Group Growth Track, which was held in Espoo on Thursday, September 10. The participating companies’ growth plans were examined by several experts. The evaluation of the experts about the company’s readiness for growth influenced the jury’s decision. “In our decision making we wanted to emphasize the product or service’s global replicability, uniqueness and its advancement compared to the competitors, market potential as well as the team’s ability, willingness and courage to grow the company”, emphasizes the chairman of the jury and director of the Institute of Bioeconomy, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Pekka Äänismaa.
The Bioeconomy Metsä Group Growth Track board of juries include Hannu Pirinen from Metsä Forest, Pekka Äänismaa from JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Bioeconomy, Olli Suontausta from Metsä Fibre, Sari Åkerlund from Ääneseudun Kehitys, Jari Ihamäki from Finnvera, Mika Jokiranta from Nordea and Veli-Pekka Päivänen from Regional Council of Central Finland.
The winner of Bioeconomy Growth Track and the company receiving an honorary mention will continue directly to the national Kasvu Open final sparring. Kasvu Open culminates in a two-day “Kasvun karnevaali” finals, which will be held in Paviljonki, Jyväskylä, on October 22-23. Kasvu Open is a project for sparring eager to growth companies with growth experts in Finland. The word “kasvu” means growth in Finnish, and “open” summarizes the idea of the competition being open for every type of company and for any expert willing to share own knowledge on a pro bono basis.
